Sufjan Stevens - The Man of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts.
“Took my bags, Illinois. Dreamt the lake, took my boy. Man of Steel, Man of Heart, turn your ear to my part. There are things you have said. Raise the boat, and raise the dead. If you take us away. Still can we say: ‘Only a steel man can be a lover if he had hands to tremble all over. We celebrate our sense of each other. We have a lot to give one another.’”
Sufjan steals the hearts of indie kids everywhere, all the time. And Illinois, hell yeah!
I’m considering a pigeon attack victim (I’ll need feathers, fake blood, an “I <3 NY” t-shirt I’m willing to destroy, and fake pigeons — know where I can get those?), the Snuggie King (a crown and a Snuggie), or Pedobear (I’ve always wanted an adult-sized, bear footie-pajamas just for shits and giggles).
Logistically, the bear costume is by far the simplest one, while the Snuggie King idea would be the most affordable. The pigeon attack victim would be the most creative, but it’s hard to find realistic-looking pigeons without going out, hunting, and stuffing actual pigeons.
So, of the three choices, what should I be for Halloween?
